Areas of Intervention
HEALTH
Our interventions in the health field were concentrated during our first years of operation in mobile clinic activities. We have formed health brigades which visited monthly certain localities far from the town of Petit-Goave. This approach allowed us to reach the disadvantaged people living in the communal sections, to meet some of their health needs and to provide them with first aid. We had established a community pharmacy in the city center where our medicines and health products were sold at really competitive prices. This pharmacy was housed in the local health center that we had rented. However, given the growing health needs of the populations in the Goavian region and the surrounding regions, given the need to sometimes resort urgently to surgical operations, we are currently developing a project for the construction of a modern health center

EDUCATION
For an underdeveloped country with a very high illiteracy rate, the educational needs in Haiti are enormous. To help with this great problem, Haiti Vision established in 2008 literacy brigades to help people who cannot read or write in the commune of Petit-Goave. This program had started to bear fruit, but it had to be discontinued after the earthquake of January 12, 2010.

AGRICULTURE & ENVIRONMENT
Through our structure of different peasant movements in the 12 communal sections, we work closely with different groups of farmers who work in 'konbit', a form of cooperative to establish community gardens based on certain commodities such as cassava, beans, corn etc. We have also set up groups of women who have created household gardens based on market gardening, plants to help meet their food needs and create a source of income.
During the years 2007-2010 we had initiated various reforestation campaigns each year on the occasion of the May Day celebration. Our activities were concentrated in the 12th section of the Fourques and the 11th section of Ravine Sèche which reflected a fairly rapid rate of deforestation.

HUMAN RIGHTS
Haiti Vision is always interested in the needs of the underprivileged mass, so in the field of human rights we have always worked in the sense of justice and equity so that the rights of the poor and peasants are not harmed. In this regard we have created a legal aid office to provide legal support to the needy who find it very difficult to pay exorbitant legal fees. With the help of our 2 active lawyers and other members of the Executive Board, we have prepared brochures of a legal nature which are translated into Creole to help the peasants to know their fundamental rights and duties in different aspects of their daily life.
